Rooms
The Deluxe Double Room with Shower is compact but well-equipped with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a refrigerator, an electric kettle, and a wardrobe. The room features an olde worlde Victorian theme, parquet floors, and outdoor furniture on the private wrap-around porch. The bathroom has a shower, hairdryer, and Diptyque toiletries. All rooms are non-smoking and have a private entrance.
Dining
Breakfast is served in the dining room with French jazz playing on an antique record player. The made-to-order breakfast is generous and delicious, with freshly prepared options. There is no on-site restaurant for other meals, but the Rumbling Tum pizza spot is a short walk away, and other restaurants are a road or two from the property.
Leisure
The garden and terrace provide space to relax, with cozy seats outside the room for reading or having a glass of wine. The property has a garden setting with birdsong. For golf enthusiasts, the Bonnievale Golf Club and Montagu Golf Club (2 km) are nearby. Nature lovers can visit the Witbosrivier Nature Reserve (14 km) and Montagu Springs (2 km).
Location
Montagu Manor is centrally located, a road or two from restaurants and town. It is 400 metres from Hick's Art Gallery and 2 km from Montagu Golf Club. Cape Town International Airport is 200 km away. Free private parking is available on-site, and the property offers free WiFi. The magistrates court across the road can attract some unsavory characters, but the property itself is safe and welcoming.
“Montagu Manor masterfully revives a historic building, immersing visitors in a delightful Victorian/Edwardian ambiance underscored by thoughtful decorative details and a charming antique record player. The hosts' genuine warmth and their generous, delicious breakfasts, served in beautifully appointed surroundings, create a truly special experience, making it a standout choice for exploring Montagu.”
